She Paints

When she realized we know nothing but what we think we know,                    she stopped seeing doors of opportunities                                              and saw blank canvasses instead.

They said she wouldn’t, so she did.
They tell her she can’t, and she does.
They ask her why, she asks why not.

First it was the sky,                                                                                                                             then the mountains and the open road.                                                     Suddenly she found herself climbing the hill,                                                                     her canvas slowly filling it’s blank holes.

The sky is blue,                                                                                                                                                       and green and orange!                                                                                            black and white!                                                                                             it’s all of those and more.

The mountains are painted with tears and laughter,

then twisted in some romantic song.

She could go on to tell you more….
But it’s a beautiful world
When you paint it to your own.
